It seems I have hit a plateau. I have not lost any weight since the initial 15 pounds. I would have thought that would come at a later date, not 15 pounds. I have stayed within my daily calorie allowance. The only thing I can contribute the non weight loss to is lack of exercise. I am so horrible at exercising. So inconsistent. I moved the eliptical trainer into the house a couple of weeks ago. I used it religiously the first 15 pound loss. But my knees hurt so bad that I backed off for a while. Wrong thing to do!This got me out of the exercise routine. Next step is to find a exercise that I can do that doesn't make my knees hurt anymore than they do. I have a couple of dvds I am going to try this week. When the weather permits I am going to resume walking around our neighborhood. I am not a cold weather outdoors person. I want to start uploading photos of what I eat. Also figure out how to blog from my mobile phone or tablet. I keep getting an error message. Hubby was home for less than 24 hours. Otherwise I would have him to get me started on the mobile blogging. I just hate to ask him when he needs to relax and regroup. Hopefully he will be home longer next weekend. He has done excellent on his weight loss. Why is it that men lose quicker than women. It's not fair. But I am not giving up. I have an appointment with the dietician at the hospital next week. Hopefully she can give me some pointers. She asked me to bring my last four weeks of my food diary. She said to bring them and we would go over them to see if we can figure out a solution.

Progress
I haven't blogged since Christmas. But I have stayed on track. Which is a big accomplishment for me. I am doing great on my weight loss. I have lost 14 pounds so far. I can't believe it. I have logged everything I have ate since December. I am using Lose It! to track my food and exercise. My husband bought us both a Fitbit pedometer. I like it because it downloads your steps to your Fitbit account. It even tracks your sleep pattern when you wear it at night. I try to exercise at least 4 times a week. Using the ellitiptcal is my favorite activity other than walking. And let me tell you that getting 10,000 steps daily is really hard for me at times. I also have the Kettleworx dvds . OMG when I do these it kicks my butt. I am so sore the next couple of days. So far I am enjoying this journey. I haven't gotten bored or discouraged. I am beginning to notice a change in the way my clothes are fitting also. My work uniform is getting really loose. I am going to have to buy a smaller pair of scrubs. This is a good thing. I hope to be down quite a bit before my son's wedding in July. I think that was the push I needed to get motivated. I do not want to look like the fat mother-in-law in the wedding photos. I am so excited that I am finally on track.

Christmas Vacation
Wow, I can't believe I haven't posted since June. I lost my password for the blog. I finally got around to recovering it. I am such a procrastinator. But I am back on track. Since I posted in June I have gained, ugh, 3 pounds. So my weight is 183. My goal weight is 135. Hubby and I are headed to Myrtle Beach for vacation in a few days. We went last year at Christmas. It was so nice. Just the two of us. Great alone time. And for the first time in a very long time we had a white Christmas. I miss seeing my family and Son but I really enjoyed the time with my husband. We have decided to follow The 17 Day Diet.It is a Doctors plan designed for rapid weight loss. We saw it on Dr. OZ. It looks like it would be simple to follow. We bought the book and workbook. We plan to read it at the beach and get all the information we need and start when we get home. So excited. I couldn't get into Weight Watchers this time around. I am so looking forward to this new chapter in my weight loss journey.

My First Weigh In
Today was my first official weigh in day. My coworker weighed me at work and I couldn’t believe it! I was down 3.5 pounds. I am very pleased with myself. I have tracked everything I ate. And it wasn’t hard. I make my lunch the night before and go ahead and put it in the tracker. My husband works out-of-town Monday thru Friday so it is easy for me to decide what I want. I really like the tracking feature that WW has. And I am getting adjusted to the new Points Plus system. My hardest days are when he is home because I have not gotten to the point where have to realize I CAN NOT eat the same portions as him. But he gently reminds me to be careful with my portions. I was surprised that I am not hungry during the day. I seem to be able to control my cravings more. I do stress eat a lot at work sometimes. But I am learning to control it by drinking a bottle of water. Then if I need something I have a piece of fruit or some carrots. I am learning to make better food choices. Also I have just about cut out all my Diet Coke. This is huge for me. I was drinking 4 to 5 a day. It doesn’t help that we have a drink machine in our break room at work. :) I have also noticed that when I drink a Diet Coke that I have a hot flash. Thank you menopause. But anyway my husband and I googled it and we couldn’t find any data on this. So since I have cut out the Diet Coke I have been taking unsweetened tea to work to drink when I need something besides water. I just need to get exercising.

A Good Beginning
I am so ecstatic! I did the first week of WW online and lost 1 pound. I had previously thought that I had not lost any. But it took me a couple of weeks to get in gear and join the site. I had checked out a WW meeting and was not comfortable there. It was an older group of ladies.Nothing wrong with that, I just wanted more people my age that I could relate to. The other meeting that I could attend is only 5 minutes from work but it is at Gold’s Gym. Yikes. You have to walk thru all those nice toned bodies. LOL. Not ready for that either. But the leader did let me purchase the Dining Out Book and the other book. Only because I had been a member in 2008. And I also got the new Points Plus Calculator. So I made the decision to join the online group for 3 months to see how it goes.

First Week of Weight Watchers
I have done the Points Plus Program faithfully for the past week. I am very disappointed with the first 6 days results. I have stayed on point and did not lose any weight. I don’t know if this is normal or not. But I am going to stick with the program. I have got to get healthy and get this week off. I know I will have more energy and be happier with myself. So the free week of online tools ends tomorrow. I am going to sign up for the 3 month on line program. I really like being able to track my food and points. A co-worker is going to weigh me each Monday. So I will have the accountability. As soon as I learn how to post pictures and work with Blogger my blog will look a lot better.
I want to add a weight loss tracker. But I am having trouble with that application. No one is reading this anyway. :) Since I haven’t told anyone that I am blogging. I did tell my husband that I am doing the WW and about my frustration with the first week. I need to incorporate exercise into my week. I walked on treadmill for 15 minutes on Friday after work. It was a start.

I Did it !!!
Weight Watchers is having a week of online membership. So I signed up. I am going to see how I like the new Points Plus System. I am planning on going to a meeting tomorrow night so I can buy the books and PP calculator. When I got to work I weighed on our office scales. My starting weight is 180. I have never weighed this much. I weighed175 when I delivered both of my children. I would like to get down to 130. I wonder how long it will take me to lose pounds? And will I keep it off? Will I stick with the program? I have a wedding to go to July 14, 2012. Surely I can lose the weight by then. So that is my goal. 50 pounds lost by July 2012. Hopefully this blog will be an accountability tool for me. I also need to begin exercising again. I just do not have the energy when I get home. But I am going to start....soon. LOL.
